Research and Innovation

Main directions of scientific activity:

  • Development of highly effective methods of chemical processing of hardwoods, softwoods and one-year-old plants for further usage in pulp and paper manufacture in the form of cellulose, semicellulose and wood mass
  • Manufacture of new polymeric composite materials from vegetable raw materials in the presence of supplementary chemical additives with unique properties that differ in the field of application (printing industry, furniture, automotive, tractor, food and radio engineering industries, medicine, aircraft construction, etc.)
  • Improvement of current technological processes and equipment in the production of common and special types of cellulose, semicellulose, wood mass, paper and cardboard for enhancement of their physical and mechanical properties, cost reduction and extension of application
  • Development of resource/energy-saving, environmentally friendly and import substitution technologies in chemical processing of wood
  • Rational utilization of secondary fibrous raw materials (different types of wastepaper) and synthetic fibres in technology of pulp and paper production
  • Manufacture of new products based on rosin acids and their modification to give new consumer properties
  • Preparation for research of emulsion-type cosmetics samples and fragrances, chemical reactions with stirring and temperature control for the investigated disperse systems
  • Development of import-substituting technology for the production of emulsion-type cosmetic products and fragrances

- Synthesis of new polymers on the basis of amino amides of resin acids of rosin

- Physicochemical regularities of the transformation of resin acids of rosin and monoterpenes of gum turpentine in the presence of new catalytic systems

- Investigation of the mechanism of penetration and chemical interactions of water-soluble coloring substances in the structure of printing paper in order to evaluate and predict its properties

- Study of physicochemical changes in wood components (lignin and hemicellulose) under thermohydrolitic action

- Investigation of straw component composition of different species and varieties of domestic agricultural crops (wheat, rye, rape, corn, flax, etc.) and the physicochemical regularities of its transformations under mechanochemical, thermal, hydrothermal, thermocatalytic treatment

- Determination of the parameters of the lignin production process by various methods of wood raw materials hydrolysis
