Scientific activities of the Department include: oxide phosphors doped with rare earth elements synthesis and investigation; synthesis and investigation of oxide thermoelectrics based on layered cobaltites; synthesis and investigation of multiferroics based on perovskite bismuth ferrite and layered bismuth titanate.

Development and optimization of methods of technological and natural objects analysis

1.Fundamental research:

Applied aspect

Development of chromatographic methods of analysis of plant raw materials of Republic of Belarus that are perspective for usage in pharmaceutical and food industry

Data is obtained on the distribution of enantiomers in the insufficiently explored Belarusian plant raw materials that are perspective for usage in modern pharmaceutical and food industry. Distribution of isomers has been studied in the plants that are cultivated in Belarus and are used in food and pharmaceutical products. The peculiarities of accumulation of enantiomers depending from the stage of the plants’ vegetation, state and storage time of plant raw materials have been studied. According to the peculiarities of enantiomers distribution, quality and authenticity criteria for essential oils, essential oil and medicinal raw materials used for phytopreparations production have been developed. A concept of usage of enantiomeric composition of terpene compounds extracted from the Belarusian plant raw materials is to be formulated in the quality and authenticity analysis of raw plant materials and phytopreparations. Field of research is relevant for the development of food and pharmaceutical industry, including improvement of products quality and competitiveness in the domestic and international markets.

Development of methodology and technology of isolation of biologically active compounds, which are suitable for photodynamic therapy of oncological diseases, from the perspective types of Belarusian plant raw materials

The screening of medicinal herbs has been carried out on the content of biologically active compounds. The selection of the most promising types of raw plant materials for determining the compounds suitable for photodynamic therapy of oncological diseases also took place. The methods of isolation and structural-functional analysis of these compounds have been developed.

The technology of isolation of biologically active compounds, which are suitable for photodynamic therapy of oncological diseases, from Belarusian raw plant materials is to be developed. This field of research  is actual for the development of pharmaceutical industry (import substitution, improvement of products quality and competitiveness in the domestic and international markets).

Obtaining of new analytical reagents and organic materials for modern analytical equipment and electronics

Results both in the sphere of directional organic synthesis and in the sphere of creation of new mesomorphic materials and analytical reagents have been obtained. Advantages of this research are application of cheap and accessible reagents on all the synthesis stages, increase of adaptability of synthetic schemes and decrease of labor-intensiveness of executed operations. All these factors are important during the execution of creation of big amounts of purposeful compounds.

The research results can be used in development and creation of prototypes of new reagents for selective extraction and materials for electronics. Developed synthesis methods as well as received laboratory prototypes can be used on various enterprises of ministry of industry ( “Integral”, “Gorizont” etc.) and “Belneftekhim” concern (“Naftan”, “Azot” etc.), which perform developments in organic synthesis sphere and creation and usage of new materials for electronics and analytical reagents. The received results of  SRW can also be used in the research institute of NAS of Belarus, “Display”, “Isovac” etc., which work in the spheres of microelectronics, equipment development and methods of diagnosis and analysis.

Development of methods of synthesis and techniques of analysis of new fluorine-containing heterocyclic biologically active compounds

The results of  SRW can be used in obtaining of fluorine containing compounds of raw 3-fluoroaryl-3-ketoester, which can be used for obtaining of fluoroquinolone structural analogues and other types of  heterocyclic biologically active compounds.

The results of  SRW can be used in the creation of domestic technologies for obtaining of antibacterial preparations of fluoroquinolone group, in obtaining and research of properties of new fluorine-containing compounds with various pharmacophore groups.

Obtained results can be used on enterprises of pharmaceutical industry department of  Ministry of  Health of Republic of Belarus, in chemical-pharmaceutical production of “Academfarm” enterprise and in NAS of Belarus  research institutes, which do research in sphere of obtaining and research of properties of new biologically active compounds.

Research of anion-exchange extraction systems using solvating agents of various structure

Data about extraction can be used for development of effective techniques of organic anions extracting and defining.

Supposed applied aspect is creation of new highly selective electrodes for defining carboxylate anions.
