On February 6, BSTU was visited by the adviser on science of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation, responsible for scientific and technical cooperation with the Republic of Belarus, Professor Ahmad Gholami.
The rector of the university Ihar Voitau and the first pro-rector Aliaksandr Tsyhanau presented to the Iranian diplomat information on the history of the university, areas for training specialists, offered options for cooperation with Iranian educational institutions in the field of training bachelors, undergraduates and graduate students. Questions were discussed on the development of joint programs with the provision of a double diploma, on the choice of the language of instruction (Russian, English), on sending Iranian students to Russian language preparatory courses, for academic exchange of students and teachers, and a number of other related issues.
The university rector informed the Iranian guest that at present two post-graduate students are successfully studying at the Belarusian State Technological University, who plan to defend their theses at our university. Two more Iranian students are taught Russian at university preparatory courses.
The Iranian diplomat got acquainted with the laboratories of the faculty of the TOV and the Center for Physical and Chemical Research Methods, their equipping and the areas of training courses for specialists.
As a result of the visit, it was decided to develop contacts and expand cooperation in the field of training students and graduate students from Iran to BSTU and BSTU cooperation with Iranian universities.
