organic chemistry, chemistry of heterocyclic compounds - syn­thesis of substituted triazoles, pyrazoles, pyrolles, pyrolo[1,2-b]-pyrazoles;chemistry of liquidcrystalline and anisotropic compounds; isolation of biologically active lignans from plants and synthesis of their analogues;drug discovery; determination of organic compounds structure by 
NMR-, IR- and MS-spectroscopy.
