Information systems and technology is the multidisciplinary study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems, particularly software applications and system networks. IT professionals accomplish a range of tasks, from developing and installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases. Students graduate as IT professionals with knowledge of computer hardware and software, web- and electronic design, databases, telecommunications, wireless technology and the Internet. They also develop the skills of effective communication, teamwork and leadership.
