Biotechnology

The graduate program provides its students with a strong multidisciplinary knowledge of biotechnology and engineering and the ability to apply this knowledge in a research and industry environment. At the core of the training are biotechnologically important organisms, vitamins, ferments, energy carriers, enzymes, ether oils, their properties and applications in products and processes. Students acquire practical skills and the ability to use key methods of biotechnology, including genetic engineering and synthetic biology, and learn to apply these tools to the development of biotechnological processes.

Technology of Enzymes, Vitamins and Fermentation Products

Students study biochemistry and chemistry of biologically-active substances: microbiology and general biology; molecular biotechnology, toxicology; genetic engineering; technologies of microbial synthesis and fermentation products. They acquire knowledge in the field of biotechnological enterprises design, computer simulation and optimization of chemical-technological processes of biotechnological production.

Biotechnology of Energy Carriers

Would-be engineers study biochemistry; chemistry of biologically-active substances; microbiology and general biology; molecular biotechnology; toxicology; genetic engineering; technology of microbial synthesis; biotechnology of energy carriers; technology of biofuel production. Students acquire knowledge in the field of biotechnological enterprises design, computer simulation and optimization of chemical-technological processes of biotechnological production.

Technology of Fats, Ether Oils and Perfume-Cosmetics Products

Students study biochemistry; microbiology and principles of general biology; genetic engineering; food chemistry; chemistry of fats and natural organic compounds; emulsion systems for cosmetics industry; technologies of fats processing. The teaching process also deals with biochemical principles of cosmetics production; technologies of natural essential oils and synthetic perfumes production; methods of standardization and identification of products; food raw materials safety. Students acquire knowledge in the field of design, computer simulation and optimization of chemical-technological processes.

Professional employment – enterprises producing enzymatic agents, vitamins, fermentation products, energy carriers (biogas, bioethanol, etc.) from renewable vegetable raw material with the use of microorganisms, essential oils, oil and perfume-cosmetic products.
